Mitsubishi motor company is Japan's fourth largest auto manufacturer and has been quite successful in the United States since teaming up with Dodge and other Chrysler brands in the 1970's.

For many years, Mitsubishi did not sell cars in North America and stuck only to selling vehicles in Asian. That all changed though back in 1982 though as the company became more involved in American automobiles while developing the Eagle brand of vehicles.

Today, Mitsubishi has one of the most successful coupes on the market in the Mitsubishi Eclipse. The model gained much of its fame in the 1990's with being an aggressive, youth-targeted vehicle.
