As a British sports car manufacturer, Lotus is more popular now than ever. The company was formed as Lotus Engineering Ltd. by the engineer Colin Chapman in 1952. Lotus was active and competitive in Formula One racing from 1958 to 1994, and still relies on that racing history to produce its sports cars today. Lotus currently produces two separate models in the Lotus Elise and the Lotus Exige. The Elise has just made its debut on American soil and offers one of the sportiest all around vehicles for the money.
