Engineered to tackle any terrain imaginable, brothers Spencer and Maurice Wilks began the British auto manufacturer with the goal of building superior utility vehicles. Land Rover continued to build momentum through the 50's and 60's. In 1970, Land Rover began selling vehicles internationally, including America. Today, Land Rover offers four separate types of SUVs geared towards consumers looking for a luxury brand SUV. Their most affordable model is the Freelander, a compact SUV with pricing starting around $28,000. The most successful model available from Land Rover though would likely be the Range Rover -- a capable vehicle and status symbol to some -- with pricing that starts around $75,000. |
