Dodge, founded by brothers John Francis and Horace Elgin Dodge, actually began in the automotive industry working alongside Henry Ford and Ford Motor Company. In 1914 though, the brothers separated from Ford and created the Dodge we all know of today here in the United States.

On their path to becoming a successful American car manufacturer, Dodge focused on providing vehicles to the middle class -- an approach that is still phenomenally successful today for the company. Dodge is a company that often relies on its past successes for tomorrow's vehicles. A great example of this would be some of the retro-styling and brand reviving in the Dodge Charger. Other popular and critically acclaimed vehicles include the Dodge Ram pickup truck and arguably the most coveted American sports car in history in the Dodge Viper.
